Are my devices/machines operating at full capacity? Do I know what the real potential of my factory is?
The OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiviness) measures the operational efficiency of the equipment. It is a very valuable indicator that allows to know the real capacity to produce with quality, the performance of the process and the availability of the equipment.
A 100% OEE reflects an optimal production process: at maximum speed, without defects or stops. However, in most cases, the efficiency is less than 70%, which means that there is a lot of margin for improvement.
The efficiency calculation applies to automatic or semi-automatic processes that must have a defined standard of work beforehand.
